1. Paper, illustration board, canvas

There are different surfaces for different media, such as pencil, pen, markers or color. For starters, I suggest you use cheap paper machine. A variety of # 20 paper papers are available at office or art stores. Later you can buy more expensive artwork for your finished artwork.

2. The radar

There are a few different types of raders out there. I'm not referring to the eraser that comes with a pen. There are various shaped pink rows that are used for light pen marks. I prefer a kneaded rubber eraser because it can be shaped to erase small areas by kneading it as a piece of clay. And best of all, it doesn't leave dirty crumbs.

3. Pencils, pens, pastels

There are different media available and different effects that each one gives. I suggest using a pencil with 2B first. There are artist pen boxes that have a complete range of cables starting with 2H lightest (hard lead) to darkest 6B (soft lead). The most used pens for a beginner are 2H, HB, 2B, 4B and 6B. Soon the artist will want to experiment with other media such as crayons, pastels, pen and ink

4. Pencil sharpener

Keep your pens sharp so your drawings are sharp. An electric actuator is best, but the old fashion wood or handheld type works just as well.

5. T-square, triangle and ruler

The T-square goes over the straight edge of your board and gives you smooth parallel lines. With the triangle, you can achieve perfect right angles or simply use it to create straight lines. Together, they can be used to measure and add perspectives to your work. Rulers are needed to make sure your drawings are custom or standard sizes.

6. Cutting knife

Used to cut out small surfaces, make straight cuts with a metal ruler to cut excess surface from your artwork.

7. Drawing table

An adjustable drawing board, also called a writer's table, is to help the artist be comfortable while in his drawing position. For some artists working on a flat table works just as well. You can also create an alternative to the adjustable table by using a piece of wood approximately 18 "x24". It can then be supported with your legs or some books on a table at whatever angle you want.

8. Lamp or light source

To create your best art, you need the best light. Place the lamp or yourself in the right place so that you do not cast a shadow on your artwork. Adding to your art selection is not a more important art piece than a good artist lamp. When you have good lighting in the workspace, you can get a full appreciation of color, contrast and composition. The best light source is outside the light. So when setting up your workspace, you need to be close to a window.

9. Chairman

Being comfortable either at the desk or on the beach is so important. You want to be relaxed but not too comfortable that you will fall asleep. Being in the same position for a long period of time can damage your back or lose circulation in your legs, arms and even your hands.

10. Lightbox

A light box helps the artist see through 2-3 sheets of paper at a time. It helps the artist to sketch his rough sketches in fresh lines on a new sheet. It also allows you to change the position of your artwork as you go back to design an improved composition.
